  I have become a return visit!

  just for background, i da'd 12 years ago and i'm now an atheist/agnostic.. i normally avoid answering to the jws (i can usually tell it's them because i hear two sets of incredibly moving footsteps coming up the stairs to my flat) or they do a quick "magazine presentation" and then they're off.

  on one occasion a few weeks ago i answered and the guy seemed up for a discussion.

  i said i was an atheist, a lengthy discussion ensued and he "placed" a creation /evolution leaflet with me.. i was expecting a call and, after avoiding them a few times, i finally answered.

  Hi Pajaha -- and welcome,

  I love it when they call. I always get a chance to divulge the fact that I studied with them many years ago. Not a lie -- I simply don't expose the fact that I then became a MS, an elder, developed a bothered conscience that resulted in disfellowshipping.

  Their inevitable question -- "Why did you stop studying?" -- is the perfect lead to my introduction to The Great Watchtower Contradiction, an 11 minute read designed for new ones but which poses questions on topics that the most seasoned JW would cringe at.

  Contradiction contains a table handout that you can snip for purse or billfold. I always keep my billfold handy.

  i might write up a life story at some point, but for the sake of time here are the abc's of me.. raised a jw.

  I love your handle as it is so clever. I enjoyed your story and am amazed at your inactivity of only 6 months. The fact that your wife and you seem to be on the same page is a definite plus.

  You'll get many tips on reading material that will help reinforce your stance and here is one of them -- The Great Watchtower Contradiction -- an 11 minute read that was designed for ones not yet baptized. However, it poses some very challenging questions and thoughts that even the most seasoned JW would wish they wouldn't encounter at the door. All Watchtower quotes (except 1) can be found on the Watchtower library CD.

  I, along with the some 70,000 each year who choose to exit Watchtower's flock, wish you the very best.

  today i added a new article to my blog addressing another gross misrepresentation about the history of blood transfusion.

  since 1945 the watchtower organization has taught that pope innocent viii received a blood transfusion in the year 1492. it turns out this is another stellar example of watchtowers utter inability to get its facts straight when it comes to the subject of blood and blood transfusion.

  Marvin: I’m not sure what you’re asking about.

  I was simply asking for the source of that "70 step process" you mentioned. You then sourced it -- " ... recently mentioned at Watchtower’s annual meeting as protocol for all articles published by it." For which I thank you. Now, then, is there a record of that meeting that you mention, something that I can quote in one of my essays. It's a powerful statement but I will not use it unless I can cite the source.

  I just checked the edit revision page and see that issue is a hot item since September 6, with some dozen or so attempts to add the change but rejected by some editor since "something I heard at breakfast" isn't a good source.

  Tim Horton's

  so both of my kids got a job at tim horton's,,and when i go to pick them up from work i see service car groups there taking a break on a regular basis,,,anyway yesterday when my daughter got home she told me the the most rude people she had to deal with the the car group,and they left a big mess at their table,,what makes it worse is the one girl used to be friends with my daughter when we still went to the hall,,so she was a little upset,,,my question is how can you be out in service and act one way and then while taking a service break be so rude to the worker's,,.
